Nas with the Roots on band headling Hollywood Bowl in LA on June 27th

Its being branded as the Roots Picnic, but I dont know if its replacing that as they usually in Philly that time of year

Bun B, TI and De La Soul also opening

Last years Philly picnic was a nightmare for the attendees. Bad weather and ridiculous lines to get in...

Listening to this ig sounds like a post from crimsontider or reptile. He’s obviously one of those anti-purist kind of guys. This is what happens when the pendulum swings too far in the other direction.

Man I hope Nas really gets back in the studio with Toomp. Both of those records are 5 mic songs to me, and we definitely need that TI and Nas record.

Toomp says here he's supposed to be going back on with Nas. I wouldn't be surprised if Nas and T.I. locked in for that Imagine That series. They've been on a few songs together, but were posse cuts (Lil Jon's "Grand Finale") or unreleased (Dr. Dre's "Topless").

This is ridiculous. The versuz format is designed for hit records to be played. Songs people have nostalgic familiarity with. That's not what the Nas/Hit Boy albums were about so why expect a crowd of casual rap fans to recognize any tracks from those albums? It doesn't mean nobody cares about NY. The general public would care about NY rappers if they had hits but they don't right now. Nobody was discounting Pop Smoke because he was NY...he had hits so they fukked with him.

Low key no region is popping right now. It’s all individual bubbles and niches. But you don’t hear people saying ATL is irrelevant, they just focus on NY.

Kids decided streamers are cooler than rappers, just like they decided rappers were cooler than rockstars. Labels got very little to do with this.
