As for Crosby: @Miggs @JLova @His_Excellence_Reincar

This is his chance to prove he is really about that. If he does not win a) we will have proof he cant win without Malkin b) he won't be captain in 2018.

Can't win without Malkin? Cause Malkin was on Team Canada in 2010 right. This won't prove that at all. Crosby is legit, his haters just make me laugh at this point.

I might be the only one that's cool with Nash making it. His size, speed and skill is great. Don't see him floating when on Team Canada in the past. I would of gone with Giroux or St.Louis over Jeff Carter.

Crosby, Toews, Tavares, Duchene and hopefully a healthy Stamkos will be fun to watch.

Nash is lazy. Look at this season in NY

Would've liked to see Giroux or St. Louis over Nash. Defense is on point (MAYBE Seabrook but Canada has that LHD/RHD desire).

Would've gone with Bernier over Smith but that's just me :manny:

Can't believe my dawg Mike Richards didn't make it either. A line of Richards - Toews - Bergeron would've made sure anyone and everyone got shut down :dwillhuh:

St Louis and Logan Couture not making the team over Jeff Carter and Nash and Hamhuis making it are the surprises for me. Never expected Giroux to make it, Team Canada doesn't do undersized centers.

Bergeron's on the team because he can go out play 6-7 minutes a game including the penalty kill and win faceoffs, not a lot of high level guys can be effective playing such limited minutes not to mention his defensive responsibility. I don't see an issue bringing in a guy who skates well and provides Selke caliber defensive responsibility.

Kunitz obviously there for chemistry purposes but he's also very defensively responsible, another guy who can play a role on the PK. You can't just knock on the chemistry issue because it was a big deal in 2010 and you can't just say anyone will eat playing with Crosby because it didn't happen then, it didn't happen with a lot of guys in Pittsburgh and it even took Kunitz 2 years to get to this point where he's over a PPG player with him. Crosby is far and away the best hockey player on the planet, you do what it takes to have him as close to peak performance as possible

The forwards will be fine and should be more effective than 2010 just based on the addition of 2 legit scorers in Tavares and Stamkos, really the biggest point of regression for the team is not having the presence of Niedermayer or Pronger on the back end.

There defense is better right now than 2010....bigger,more mobile and way more versatile...

i would have gone with josh harding over smith, i hate how some players got picked on what they are doin g now and others for past accomplishments. Rick nash has been ass for a few years now, mike smith :wtf:, jeff carter just getting shine now because he was a good little boy who sat out on call in vancouver incase getzlaf couldnt go.

The point is you dont need a shut down line in this tourney, you need scoring.

you have a shut down line in the nhl etc because most teams cant field 3-4 quality lines and you dont want your top layers to get tired.

just loko at sweden
throwing out a line of say alfredson, backstrom, zetterberg, then throwing out a line of the sedin twins with alexander steen then sthrowing out a line of eriksson, ladeskog, ssilfverbeg

the whole shut down line is a friggin joke, you need scoring, goals always wins, every tourney canada sucked at its because they couldnt score goals,

sweden is stacked and is going to win gold anyways
