This is the over-reaction that people will have to deal with. Jamal's post explains why this isn't true. Check the last draft, 18 of the first round picks were Canadian.

doesnt matter most are busts, plus teams are weary of drafting russians, and many sweeds stay in modo or whatever its called.

first canada lost goaltending, cant tell the last young cdn goalie studd, now there lsoing everywhere

What will we say in 20 years? This country become browner by the day. Hockey Canada needs to step it up. And Canada is now ranked 5th overall by the IIHF

biggest omission was Keith Yandle, that just blows my mind. I would have taken Bobby Ryan but i can at least see why they might now want him.

Cam Fowler will be this year's Drew Doughty. Kid is made for the big ice.

Callahan and Brown don't deserve to make the team based on their play this year, but you know damn well that they will step it up in the Olympics. They aren't on the team to score, theyre on the team to forecheck and make star forwards on russia/canada/sweden pay the price. I think a line of Backes/Callahan/Brown will be a nightmare to play against.

Quick is the best goalie in the world, which is why they are a threat to win gold this year. Overall, the d is still somewhat thin.

Country is becoming browner by the day... I forgot only white people can play hockey. Guess Kadri, Subban etc.. can't play hockey. And there's more to Canada then hockey. That just sounded ignorant as fukk.

You guys really think Mackinnon, Reilly, Monahan, wouldn't make a difference?

Other countries are getting better, nothing you can do about that. Russia has always been good.

the 2010 roster had brayden schenn, taylor hall, nazem kadri, ryan ellis, alex pietrangelo, jordan eberle and still lost

even the year before

the 2009 roster had ryan ellis, tyler myers, pietrangelo, pk subban, jamie benn, zach boychuk, eberle, tyler ennis, cody hodson, evander kane, john tavares and it TOOK that goal by eberle with like 5 seconds left to tie it up

so yes even stacked canadian rosters

I know Dean Lombardi is part of the braintrust but he needs to be the GM for the next go around. It seems like he's the only one of the GMs with a brain.
dean lombardi is a damn near genius. if they flame out this year, how can they not make him the gm in 2018 ? dude is a master at building teams. but burke is always the boisterous guy in the room, while lombardi is mild mannered. so burkes opinion probably held more weight with Poile. honestly, how the hell did poile get this position over lombardi ? it make zero sense.

I would say Hockey is a bit ahead of basketball in the strength of international teams. And it's not like Spain didn't give team USA a scare in a gold medal game.

In 20 years (actually maybe even 10 years), Team Canada in basketball could probably give USA a run. That doesn't mean team usa sucks or something is wrong with their development.

and you tried to tell me it was all Poile :beli:

Burkes a piece of shyt for calling a player out like that for NO REASON....Media asked him why he left him Ryan didnt ask anybody and he shyts on a guy because of it...total lack of class by that fat overrated emotional slob...
im hardly a burke apologist, but that piece with the Burke quotes was NOT an interview. it was a behind the scenes sit-in burnside did. granted, burk should have known these comments would have eventually gotten out, but still... when youre building a team, there are some players that will be slighted.

You know what I was talking about. Hockey cost as much and immigrants who come are choosing other sports. And yes Max Domi would have made a difference. Russia has always been good. And now other nations are. The days of five golds are over.
