First time around was only a financially successful venture because Jay Z bought up a bunch of copies . . he's probably relying on the same thing to happen here but it's not like there's a huge overhead . . just a huge profit margin. He could sell 1 copy and probably pay for all the initial CD presses
Also the press release helps add value to the project, it's seen as an artistic statement as well as a statement about the business

he clearly does this for his fans who can afford to buy it, if he got jay to spend 1k on his albums and didn't even talk to him or anything imagine how many other fans he has who would cop.

I think Jay bought 100 copies of his $100 dollar album . . $10,000 - I wouldn't expect a handout like that again. Im not giving that nikka my mortgage payment. Paying that much we better become best friends for life and invites me and fly me to any venue he performs at. And i have to be on stage with a mic in my hand.
Great marketing campaign. All he gotta do is give a few people a stack and have them buy it. He gets his money right back and the marketing that comes with it is gonna be next level. Much more than just selling it or dropping it for free. MAY even influence a few other people to buy it at that price.
