We all know Kenny was pissed when he was healthy but Mason still got the start

I guess he knew in a competition with Russ he would probably lose and be the backup. But why be the backup in Philly under a younger / better qb?

Russ got 1 maybe 2 years in Pitt. Jalen got a decade probably.

I would've kept him as a clipboard holder in case things didnt work out similar to what the Jets did with wilson. You'd have a guy who already knows the offense and has played real time under center as a backup, and can underpay him if and when need be

Now if russ doesn't work its back to square 1 QB wise. Not necessarily a bad thing depending on how you view kenny

This was a smart move by the Steelers. Pickett is a bum. What I would do if I was Pittsburgh is either send that pick to Chicago and trade for Fields and have him sit behind Russell, or get ready to start Fields if Russ shyts the bed.

Or I would move up in the 2nd or 1st and draft Penix.
