I think more than one person was Breeze.
Kinda like how there was 2 killers in Scream.
Imma go with both Unique and Howard being Breeze.
Howard searches for Uniques body but gets fired... Howard finds a badly wounded Unique and nurses him back to health.... they gotta get money but also gotta disappear.... They decide to become Breeze cuz they just blowing with the wind as far as living. NOBODY knows there are 2 Breezes..... Fukery follows!

I interpret Ronnie’s actions as a guy that wants to beat her in the drug game, not necessarily kill her.
Ronnie strikes me as the type of guy that if he wants you dead, he’s going to kill you.
