That performance mode stuff doesn't make any sense, because targeting a resolution like that, would hurt performance.

I will be very surprised if they announced any AAA games for PS4 for 2024 at this point.

Forspoken, FF16, Spider-Man 2, Helldivers 2, Rise of The Ronin, FF7 Rebirth, etc. only PS5

At this point I only got Daymare, Lies of P, and EDF6 left anyway for my ps4.

2024 will be just cleaning out the backlog

Microsoft fukked themselves with the series s, it makes it impossible for them to launch a more powerful mid gen console. That’s be a nightmare for developers, and it already is at this point. This is a smart move from sony, they get to reclaim the most powerful hardware branding again.

Microsoft fukked themselves with the series s, it makes it impossible for them to launch a more powerful mid gen console. That’s be a nightmare for developers, and it already is at this point. This is a smart move from sony, they get to reclaim the most powerful hardware branding again.

Hopefully in 2026 Microsoft puts out new hardware. 6 years is long enough for a console generation. Given the PS4 Pro's timeline it came out and there were 4 more years of the PS4 being the current system. Not really looking forward to have the PS5 be the current console until 2028.

It wouldn’t make a difference, developers wouldn’t suddenly be making next gen games in 2026. It takes like 5 years (at least) to make a AAA game, most games that have started development for this current generation won’t even be out until 2025-2026.

Shortening console generations while game development gets longer serves even less purpose than pro consoles
