Samsung announced the Note 4, the Note Edge, a VR headset, Swarovski crystal battery doors, and Mont Blanc styluses. Because Samsung isn't afraid to be a little crazy. Nilay Patel and Dan Seifert run through all the big news.

Tempted to get the Edge off GP, but I never stay with Touchwiz, so the question is: If I get off Touchwiz, do I lose the Edge functionality forever? :lupe:

Now that I think of it, I don't get why they bothered making a separate Note with an edge display. The biggest difference between the Note III and Note IV is the internal hardware specs for the most part. The OS was slightly updated to include alot of the S5 features and a few new Note ones. They should have just added the edge screen to the Note IV instead of creating a whole new product imo. There aren't enough differences between the two products to warrant splitting them into two devices. What do you guys think? :patrice:

From what I've seen thus far, I have to agree. I guess it's a way to make more revenue considering they're pricing the Edge at a higher value than the Note 4.
IMO it looks sexier and they're going to capitilze off of the fact that we like to have the latest new toy on the market.
I thought they could have simply curved the design and kept it as one product, though.
Regardless, considering they're basically identical and I love larger than average screens, I know I'm grabbing the Edge, so they already have my money.

if they didn't, there'd be people complaining that there's no "regular" note for the base price.

this way, the edge is like the premium version where people pay the premium :yeshrug:
