I ain't getting too hyped though. I think they're the worst team in the league but I got a feeling they'll pad their record at the end of the year when teams start blatantly tanking
no way they dont have a bottom 5 record and thats good enough for me. the only...very...slight chance nets could improve out of that bottom 5 is if they can find a taker for brook or joe and get significantly better post trade. luckily, we (sorry, they) have lionel collins so thats a nice cushion too. they wont be nearly this bad next year id imagine..king will get the axe, especially if proko sells out of frustration..and the raising cap gives them flexibility neither side presumably expected to this degree at the time of the deal..they can add via FA as well as have more wiggle room in trades etc. this is the year...id flip the furthest first that we own of theirs in a trade no problem.

You not trying to get your hopes up when it's pretty much a lock you end up with a top 5 pick, the Nets are one of the worst teams in the league and there really aren't any obvious choices for squads that are tanking outside the Sixers and even they are competitive.
Have you seen the Nets schedule? shyt is brutal.
they'll finish bottom 5 85% chance but friend forgive us celts fans for having our cynicism regarding the lottery. only way we win it is if its actually rigged in our favor this time for being jobbed brutally out of duncan and durant. between bias, duncan and durant..we're owed this 1 or 2 pick. same way we got draft pick for bias...although remember this?:
In a pre-draft trade on June 9th, 1980, the Boston Celtics traded the draft rights to the 1st pick (Joe Barry Carroll) and the 13th pick (Rickey Brown) in the 1980 NBA Draft for center Robert Parish and the rights to the 3rd pick in the NBA draft (Kevin McHale).
I bet Danny does. I could easily see him and expect him to be planning a stunt like this going into the advanced scouting season..only changing in strategy in the event he becomes irrationally enamored with a player (which is probably less than half of the drafts historically).
See - Boston. Basketball reasons.
we're due
If the Celtics can package off Kelly Olynyk for anything
another has seen the light. bless your soul
Why would this happen though?
that wont happen. our worst case scenario sans trade is that amir probably gets declined and lee expires and walks. also there is unlikely to be a team out there that needs cap space next year and must also be willing to take 2/3 semi redundant bigs who range from retired wnba to aging reserve all star who is current low-tier above average and trending down. amir johnson is somewhere floating in that abyss of the steam emanating from our big men sewer system in an unidentifiable location. i honestly dont expect much movement this deadline in general because there are less combos out that work and are also necessary due to every-one having more flexibility since theyve been training their gag reflexes for the durant world tour
