Even though I haven't watched/listened to First Take with any regularity for two years, this show was what really brought me into the narrative building of sports...though I must admit that now I find this aspect of sports to be a way to lay harsh and unwarranted criticism on people who play games for a living. But I digress...
Skip is a very skilled contrarian and I was usually entertained while listening to his points, whether they were said with any real conviction or not. On the flip side, however, his opinions at the end of the day were typically judgmental and enabled many growing sports fans to pass similar judgment on people they didn't know in situations they didn't understand.
