I think season one was dope tho...from it I’m definitely not surprised season 2 is as good as it is. Season one delt with a lot of beginnings....family structure and career origins....slow at times but it was the perfect setup for season 2. Both are on par to me honestly.....John is outdoing himself

The look on Frankin’s girlfriend father come season 3 when he sees Franklin back in the world moving & shaking 
he made a jump in how his voice sounds, season one he said Denzel was a big influence of his, and you can hear some American Gangster Denzel in his voice, I guess after season one they brought in WC as a voice coach and dude sounds hella Cali now. props to him

Franklin's crew is so fukking sloppy and hard headed. Kevin died because he couldn't keep a cool head and bide his time. It's not like Franklin didn't make it right when Leon got shot and almost bled out. Franklin's uncle told Kev's cousin and his friend not to fukking sell in Mexican territory and they still did. Leon let a bytch compromise his fukking business. If this was a tight drug crew, Kevin, Leon, Kev's cousin/friend would of all been dealt with.
This season was a major step in the right direction. One thing I've noticed is where are the fukking gangs at? They have to have a role in this crack selling dynamic in LA. I gotta say the acting this season has been so good(except the dudes they chose to play Colombians
). All the black actors stepped their game up. The scenes with Franklin in county felt very sober and real. That scene with his father and mother was 
Was that Dub C next to Franklin in county? The dehumanizing scenes of life in LA county Jail was well done.

The actor that plays Leon killed that scene. I could feel the love; it gave me chills.
Also the scene with Jerome and Cissy was also really good.
