Breh lol apparently it happened because Jon watts was watching the movie with Kevin and crew and got to iron man 2 saw the scene and said "hm what if that's Peter?" And they all did the math and it worked so that's how it became canon.

Peter Parker being in "Ironman 2" is one of the most pointless retcons in history. I don't necessarily mind it but the MCU loses nothing without it so I don't see the point.

I will say this, I initially thought they were saying the kid from "Ironman 3" was Peter Parker. That would've been retarded.
