Should be timestamped but 7:45

Cliff notes: 3 years ago dude sorta called this season being kinda middish due to how they wrapped up S4. Everyone was on the same page in S4 and got over all their drama/infighting. They are united and about to face Vecna after he "won". There are no real emotional loose ends to tie up with anyone. Even called them splitting them up again for "reasons". Yea he got the pairings wrong but that's probably because no one expected them to run a Steve vs Dustin angle again. He is right about action and comic relief taking up more time than actual emotional/drama shyt.

This explains why they had all these dumb little fights again. Dustin and Steve fighting was so forced, especially Steve going at Eddie. El and Hopper back arguing. I forgot Mike and El were still a couple lol. Also explains why they had to focus more on Holly/Vecna needing new kids. They cant really do a new story with any of the established "kids" because they tied up most the shyt. If something else doesnt happen with Kali, then she is legit useless in this season and just filler.

I also read a spoiler/rumor about Vecna that someone made from what they know/saw of the play and I dont think I'm gonna like it.
Basically saying Mind Flayer is corrupting Henry/Vecna and has been this whole time. Could be trash if they execute it wrong.

Dustin and Steve is actually one of the better written parts of the season

Dustin becoming an a$$hole and pushing everyone away as he spirals over Eddie's death makes sense. This shyt happens all the time. Seeing it all crescendo with Dustin breaking down watching Steve nearly throw his life away was great. I don't see how that's forced at all

They were trying to set it up as Will couldn't really help if he didn't speak his "truth". But, it just felt like the wrong time in the episode to go for that moment. And because of it, many people didn't care for it.
This is the main reason.

Nikkas wouldn't be as mad at the Will coming out scene of it wasn't so long and bloated, and it wasn't right before these nikkas go on the ultimate save the world mission

Plus the writers themselves keep increasing the urgency, yet nothing changes, everyone is still taking their sweet time, having nonsensical conversations, standing around etc.

And whats the fukking point of the military? 80 year old 5'2 Lisa Hamillton is supposed to be intimidating? they already have a world ending threat whats the point of another antagonist?

another thing is that every fukking season is the same, they trying to rescue someone from somewhere.

Dustin having a hard time dealing with Eddie's death and lashing out at people makes sense.
Steve calling that out makes sense.
Steve attacking Dustin by shytting on Eddie's efforts make no sense. Especially with the person Steve has become. It was dumb and was just used to further the Steve/Dustin split because they couldnt think of anything else to drive a wedge between the two.

Context tho

Steve has grown increasingly annoyed with Dustin's shyt all season, and Eddie is the elephant in the room. It's natural for him to blow up about Eddie in the moment. And let's not forget that these nikkas were also stuck in the upside down with nothing but questions:manny:

And nikkas fight sometimes:manny: I was actually surprised they went that far with it because a lot of realistic male interactions have been nerfed in media over the years. Seeing two "brothers" fight their shyt out sometimes is national

Thought that the Duffers said they weren't going to revisit the ST universe..
There's already at least one spinoff already with a trailer/teaser already done. I believe that they may have said that, but I think ST is just too big of a brand right now to bot keep going.

Yeah, and also it would've been way more emotional and impactful if he had come out to a few select friends, and not the entire clown car of everyone on the entire show that isn't a villain

I didnt say there was an issue with them blowing up about Eddie. My issue is the writers having Steve say Eddie died stupidly, didnt save/help anyone with his sacrifice and he only did it because he wanted to play at being a hero. That's some antagonist/bully/bad guy shyt to say to a friend. I would expect Vecna to say that shyt to Dustin to fukk with him.

We just gonna disagree on that :manny:

That's also the type of shyt people say when they get mad:manny: And maybe he really felt like that at the time. Hell I thought Eddie was stupid too:mjlol:

I’m actually astounded at the difference in the level of acting from the above and the rest of the cast - I don’t want to be too harsh on them because most of them are kids (pretty much) but it’s actually insane.

And if we’re honest, Millie Bobbi Brown has been a mid actor since s1 - it’s not been unnoticed that they’ve reduced her screen time and had Sadie Sink and the girl who plays Holly pick up a lot of the slack this season.

I hear you, I think the actors who play Max, Lucas, Holly, Robin, Dustin and Steve all have a bright future if they play their cards right. I guess Millie will continue to get parts but she has been fukking awful. Just not as bad as Will Byers.
