The inflated run times weren’t the problem, they did a great job with season 4 and that was by far the longest season but also the best season since season 1

The problem with this season is they don’t have enough time…..I absolutely hate it when shows that I really like that are consistently good do this shyt at the finish line, why are you introducing new characters, adding in unnecessary extra characters from the past, and introducing new concepts that muddy the already well fleshed out world when you don’t have enough time as it is to wrap it up, so now we get inconsistent lore, lazy plot armour, and sloppy writing and character interactions to make it “work”
Time isnt the issue. They can have all the time in the world, it wouldnt matter because the writing is trash. They introducing new characters (let's be honest Holly might as well be new) and centering the show around them and introducing new concepts because when S4 ended and most storylines were resolved. All they needed to do was fight Vecna and deal with the rift in the earth. But that's not gonna stretch out to 8 episodes so they threw shyt at the wall.

Looks like all the theater tickets are pretty much sold out on NYE (in nyc at least)

But nobody really getting them for New Year’s Day lol

They may have miscalculated that move

Nobody who is a fan enough to see it in theaters is gonna wait until the next day to watch it (unless they got other plans , obligations etc) …timelines gonna be flooded, your friend group gonna be hitting up the group chats etc…and you waiting til 1/1 at 1pm to see it at the movies :russ:

8 eps was fine to wrap up, other than that We’re near enough saying the same thing, the writing is shytty because they’re trying to wrap up everything, but they have gave themselves more things/characters to wrap up when they didn’t need to

Why are y’all not being honest about this season?:mjlol:

It’s been :trash: outside of Vecna vs the military and the ep where the monster took the sister.

There are now way too many characters, too many conversations and now the story has become convoluted for no reason other than they had to STRETCH everything to match the inflated runtimes.
I swear nikkas don't read they just come in and vent:mjlol: Nikkas been roasting this shyt for 3 pages straight who's not being honest?

Then you follow up with criticisms nikkas have already made repeatedly:dahell::mjlol:

I definitely handle this show with kid gloves since I grew up with the Duffer Bros. I want to walk the line between being real and being charitable. This show never was expected to be this big, and never needed to be this big. And I think they just ended up in over their heads once this thing became Marvel/Avengers level popular.

In many ways I feel that they've done a good a job as most people could do. They took a small show and actually made a mythology out of it that isn't way too confusing and they did some actually good retcons in Season 4 to make it almost believable that they had a grander plan the entire time.

But there are obviously a lot of flaws with this season. There are just too many characters, and the show being so big now (and with S4 wrapping up all the inner-conflict between our main characters), they had to make this final season very plot heavy. And things have to always be happening all the time to justify the 8 episode run-time, the new mythology, etc, and so there are very few moments to sit with characters and have those special moments that made the show so endearing to so many people to begin with.

Ending any beloved show is incredibly difficult to do, and very few have done it well. It seems like the Duffer Bros probably won't stick the landing at this point, but I'm also super proud of everything they've done.

No it isn't :mjlol:

Who the fukk talk about someone's death friend and shyt on his dead because they are having an argument?

The while thing was dumb as fukk specially during that moment
Again y'all ignoring context. What Steve said really wasnt that inaccurate. You're acting like he said ":mjlol: fukk yo dead friend"

Dustin been shytting on everyone, especially Steve, on some "none of you were as good as Eddie" shyt. Nikkas gonna get tired of that after a while, especially given the circumstances.

And how did Steve react? He said "Hey I told y'all not to go out there, Eddie played hero for no reason and got himself killed". People say similar shyt in arguments all the time. Plenty of friendships have ended over shyt like that

Point is that was a natural argument/fight and Steve wasn't shytting on Eddie on some petty shyt. He got tired of being a target for Dustin's unresolved issues
