This is bad for those who can't afford to pay everything back.

I can agree with that.

But the democrat plan was pretty shyt too.

We needed a fundamental change to how education is approached in this country and how
it shouldn't be creating debtors but that would essentially upset the order started by Reagan, so it's
no shock that every other neoliberal adjacent president (red or blue) either reinforced the status quo
or worse, worsened it (like Trump just did).
I'm fine though, I finish my first Master's degree in May of next year (yay me!) and I've already gotten my
senior Eng. role (again, yay me!) and a 60%+ reduction in housing/fuel(gas) expenses.
I'll pay off all of my student loans in ~2 years, while still being able to scale my RE business.
Until this major (and necessary change) happens, I'll play the game as it needs to be played.

I been saying once some of these cats get a little bread in that pocket it's a wrap on those extreme views they were holding.

I wonder what's next? Employee Healthcare isn't too bad and he doesn't want to increase his taxes for government sponsored Healthcare? :wow:

Probably going to change his views on engineering when he sees more Asian faces than black faces.

When you come from nothing and start to get somewhere - there’s one of two paths you can take: (1) look down on those who don’t make it as failures and separate yourself or (2) realize how everyone around you had things you never had and have greater empathy for those that didn’t make it and an appreciation of how one or two things could’ve derailed you.

He’s chosen the former. The thing is - if more poor people had that selfish mindset from an economic standpoint we’d probably have a better political system because they would have more class solidarity.

The way to fix it is take out the profit motivation. Make the loans only responsible for the principle, and remove/forgive any interest on these loans. Also there needs to be a federal version of a state college. That way the federal government can maintain some influence on the price by being a participant/vendor.

Not bad ideas by any means.

I put a lot of thought into this. I even polled conservative Coworkers and all of them begrudgingly admitted they couldn’t argue against it. I mean this is in a vacuum without media manipulation, but it shuts down the whole “bail out” argument but also makes getting out of this debt realistic.
