Aspects of the comics are better. But yeah, if it wasn't for mother's milk, I'd swear Ennis has something against black people, because that g shyt was completely unnecssary. The more I think about it, the more I wouldn't mind cutting the whole G arc.

Also in preacher his dads best friend in the army was black I think that’s only positive portrayal of a black person
