Disagree about Pesci, I thought he was great in it. De Niro was aight, not his best performance but whatever :yeshrug:

Part of it is the name recognition too. Pacino + De Niro + Pesci is gonna get the movie made and get the budget Scorsese wants over Shannon + Graham + Cannavale even though they are all great actors
you're probably right. Every person in the world that saw Goodfellas and Casino probably went to see this movie because of them. Maybe because of Marty to tho

I liked how when they introduced some character they always showed how they got killed.
Kind of an anti Mafia movie. For most of them.... dead/in jail.
Kind of fukked up, that they dont get you for the murders you did but they can give you 20 yrs for arson or buying a car lower than what its worth
Those scenes when they were :flabbynsick: in jail hit hard and the one where he was picking his own coffin.
I probably was sad for the actors because they're all up there not for the gangsters

The only thing Scorsese could have switched up on this is the fact that De Niro was too old to be playing a younger man and tryna beat people's ass. He was moving terribly out there.

Other than that it's easily another Scorsese classic. De Niro, Pesci, Pacino and the whole extended cast were tremendous. Time being undefeated was some sad shyt.

another classic masterpiece. The more times I see it the better it gets and the more shyt u catch. So much attention to detail and so much to the story. This is one of those classic movies that I gotta watch once or twice a year like goodfellas and casino/carlitos way etc. I consider This one of the best movies and top 15 of all time

"Whats up kid" said Joe Pesci looking at an obviously old Robert De niro with Playstation 2 graphics on his face. The clearly fake blue eyes and the de-aging really takes you out of the movie. I had to force myself to watch it all the way through because it was very long and boring.

I hadnt watched it since first seeing it in 2019. it looks visually bad.....30 years after doing casino and goodfellas yet both of those look better and are better written then this one.....if Scorsese had done this in the 90s it probably would have been a classic but you can tell he is not interested in the gangster stuff anymore....the most interesting and best part of this movie is in the end where we see this guy in his old age waiting for death.

Thankfully we have plenty of Al Pacino and De Niro classics...this just not it.

Watching this again.. why the fukk didnt he just use younger actors :heh:
Faces all fukked up . The way they move, its like old men move.
Not talking just about that beating.
Even with that cgi, Pesci looks almost dead.
Pacino was great tho.

:whoa:

As imperfect as the CGI was, De Niro, Pacino and Pesci are too unique and too amazing to take a back seat. Nobody can fill in for them.

I am glad that Scorsese just said "fukk it" and used them throughout. I even appreciated the violent scenes with De Niro moving awkardly ... I am glad they kept them in rather than removing the scenes and just alluding to what took place.
