Athletes in individual sports seem less upset getting silver/bronze and are so supportive of each other, or at least act supportive of each other.

It's kind of jarring since we're mostly a team sports country outside of fighting and have the rings or nothing mentality.

most the individual sports are against a field vs one component (other than combat and tennis) so being 2nd or 3rd is a great feat
