What stings even more for the USA softball team is that not only did they not get revenge against Japan (Japan beat the USA in Beijing 2008 for gold) but they will have wait until LA 2028 to win gold because softball will NOT be included at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Tough.

The last time USA softball won the gold medal was at Athens 2004.
