Wasn’t this before 2016...again, I’m no where near on the level of athlete she is, so If she wasn’t ready she wasn’t ready, but I don’t get how that incident should be connected to quitting in 2021 when she had that trauma on her during the 2016 Olympics and thru the various world competitions she’s been in the past 3-4 years.

Feel free to link me to it. I can only go by what I saw and what she said in the interview after the competition. I’ve been fair in saying, after watching the series on peacock, I’m very aware of the danger of that sport and the mental space you need to be in, so I’m not dismissing her - an athlete of that caliber knows what they can and can’t do, but what it seems to come down to is this extra year of training and GOAT pressure broke her
She didn't perform well on a vault jump (and she hasn't been performing well at these Olympics overall) and that has seemingly broken her confidence/psyche so she decided to leave the team event final and let her teammates do the job alone.
