Trump is using the same playbook in all his trade “negotiations” aka tariff threats even with are allies. That’s why it’s on him. He’s making no distinction between China and anyone else.

America benefited greatly from exploiting China’s emergence onto the world stage. So the fact they got an upper hand and not just keep getting bent over and taking it isn’t a justification for Trump to now act like he’s the just calling it out.
I’m not going to pretend like I’m an economist but there were definitely other options to mitigate China’s dominance and bring back factory work but no one here wants to pay the higher price for goods and services which China knows and can just wait out Trump’s first term and negotiate with a different president.
Trump needed a coalition to face China but was too pigheaded to rip up Obama Asian trade policy.
This is on him.

Iran took hostages but we also installed a puppet leader to get our way. But if you want to move to a better understanding both sides need to come to a place of letting the past be the past.
China is going to take a multi-presidential approach of policy. Trump isn’t going to build the policy to hand off to another president to get this done. He already botched the hand-off from Obama for no reason other than spite.

How did china fux anyone over when it was american companies who moved to china for its cheap manufacturing . So you are telling me that it's ok for an american company to relocate to china & not give anything to the chinese in return . You tell me how many chinese companies do business on american soil other than the pork industry . American 1 percenter greed created this not china
None of this is why we have 25 percent tarrifs on Chinese goods.
