I've been trying to do research all week, but I've been so busy. My belief right now is that the idea that Hillary drove down Democrat turnout is false. I think the answer can be pointed straight to Obama. However I need to go back and look at the total midterm numbers for 2010 and 2014, and then analyze it by the states Hillary lost.

She lost Michigan, Wisconsin, and pa cuz of protest votes. She was a horrible candidate that needed others to help her get out the vote.

And its all about turnout. They depend on fickle young people that constantly needs to be inspired. Mitt Romney got more votes than Trump. Republicans will vote for anyone once they're the nominee. Clinton was a horrible candidate. It took this tho make a lot of people realize that.

The people who are going to be mad are the people who staked all their hopes and dreams on a Trump presidency. Trump is gonna send carriers over to China and bring all the jobs back in containers! Because he's energized a voting base that expects those promises to be kept. If he doesn't do it, those voters won't go away. They'll keep looking for someone who will. Meanwhile, Trump will have to waste time finding policies that will save face with his nativist voters, instead of running the country.

What's most likely to happen is that Trump intentionally proposes border legislation that's so absurd and so stupid, that Democrats and moderates will have no choice but to oppose it. Then he'll say "Look, they obstructed my genius policy agenda" and quietly let the idea die.

But it won't die because the people who actually want it aren't going anywhere.

He said him and Obama were only going to meet for 15 minutes to get to know each other and the meeting turned into an hour and a half. I wonder what was discussed. Trump, to me, looked legitimately shook. Obama had that resigned look like on his face like "okay, we let this clown into the secret club. Well, the Iran Deal isn't just with the USA. It's with China, Russia, UK, France, Germany. US allies like Turkey, India, South Korea will not want more sanctions on Iran as they have substantial trade relations with Tehran.

The Iran deal was arguably the best thing to come from the 8 years of Obama. Avoided a disaster of a war, nuclear proliferation, and finally warmed Iran into the world. It legitimized the international community in a way that is still being downplayed IMO.
