Add another potential revival to the list of reborn series: Veronica Mars. The cult UPN/CW series — already revived once via a partially Kickstarter-funded 2014 feature film — is near a deal with Hulu to return for a short run. Series creator Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell are on board. Hulu declined comment.

A deal isn't done yet, so details are vague. But Bell and Thomas are in, and the revival would not interfere with Bell's starring role on the NBC comedy The Good Place. There's no word yet on which other cast members might return. Veronica Mars ran for two seasons on UPN starting in 2004, then aired one more year on The CW when that network launched in 2006; it was canceled at the end of the 2006-07 season. It centered on a high school student (Bell) who worked with her private-investigator dad (Enrico Colantoni) on cases. Thomas also directed and co-wrote (with Diane Ruggiero) the 2014 feature, which had Veronica returning to Neptune, Calif., for a 10-year high school reunion, only to be pulled back into a murder mystery involving her former boyfriend, Logan Echolls (Jason Dohring). Most of the show's core cast, including Tina Majorino, Chris Lowell, Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra and Ryan Hansen, returned for the movie.

Should a deal go through, Veronica Mars would be the latest in an ever-growing list of shows to be revived with at least part of the original cast intact, from Will & Grace to Murphy Brown to, most recently, The Hills.

First season was GOAT status. Second season was dope. 3rd season you could tell the network interfered heavy.

I'm in, regardless. Kristen Bell is still cute as hell.

Was the show really THAT good?

Not even sure what it was about. Really wasn’t into too many white, teenager crime solving shyt

The first season was real good. Really shows the social and economic differences between the various classes. Your milage may vary on season 2, but most think it's decent. Season 3 was the first and only season on The CW; it should not have been made. They also made a movie in 2014, which wasn't too bad. Its more of a mystery show than a crime drama. Just give it a try.
