Iran messed up. They could have gotten Chinese military tech as Egypt and Pakistan did. They’d be in a much better position today @dtownreppin214 @thatrapsfan @King Kreole @2Quik4UHoes @RadaMillz

This goes against the whole war hawk notion that iran is this massive threat that wants to cause destruction to israel. If iran truly wanted to be a nuclear superpower they would have been invested in air defense systems and planes.

Clearly something must have happened between Iran and China for them to feel that way… I’m not a big China watcher because their government is too opaque. I do know that China constantly beats Iran over the head in their other trade and financial dealings so that could be a reason they hesitate or at some point a military deal didn’t shake out or left a really bad taste.

I can’t see the replies to them unfortunately because I’m not trying to bankroll another fascist coup somewhere.

Also just having more or Chinese jets and anti-air doesn’t mean they’ll succeed where Russian or domestic systems failed.

I could’ve sworn Iran bought the Chinese equivalent of the S-300 btw.

Iran getting involved with Russia in Ukraine was a massive error.

What’s left to be said about them bankrolling Assad, Hezbollah, and Iraqi militias all these years… beyond the horrific human toll it’s resulted in the type of historic blowback that may finish their government. It’s surreal.

.we in a dark timeline when mtg sounding more sane then supposed liberals in here :francis:

This only sounds like a sane, sensible anti-war statement if you ignore what she's actually trying to say.

This line gives it away:
We love our U.S. military and love them helping to secure our borders and our cities for the defense of OUR PEOPLE AND OUR COUNTRY.

This is authoritarian nationalism dressed up as pacifism. She's not pushing for peace, she's pushing a rebrand of US militarism that turns it inward. She doesn't want to stop imperialism; she just wants it pointed at immigrants and anyone who doesn't fit her idea of "real Americans."

She's a right winger of course she's dressing up nationalism, thats a no brainer obvious view when it comes from anyone on the right even the anti-war right. The point is that she's absolutely correct that the united states should not be using its tax dollars to fund foreign countries or wars, those funds should be used to the benefit of tax paying citizens in the united states not to the benefit of some random Israeli ability to slaughter Palestinians/Iranians. Geopolitically the united states should not be getting involved with any of this mess in the middle east, especially after Iraq

There's no universe where Marjorie Taylor Greene should be called "sane." And nothing you're saying changes that. Her rhetoric is hollow, self-serving, and completely unserious. She's not taking a principled stand, she's just trying to launder the same nativist, authoritarian garbage she always pushes. And treating it any other way helps normalize it.

And let's not pretend she’s saying something brave. The only reason she's suddenly "correct" to some of you is because liberals have been so spineless and complicit that even fascists can ride the anti-war wave, but that's a failure of liberals, not some newfound clarity from MTG. People have to stop mistaking her empty, opportunistic nationalism for moral clarity.
