The US military is still in a shambles after two 10+ year wars and multiple rapid deployments to hot zones like Syria and Libya. Yes, the US military is one of the best in the world but make no mistake, the US military is not taking Tehran in 24-48 hours like they did Baghdad.

American citizens better get smarter about the world and how for years the enemies and step-children of the west have come into their own from a warfare standpoint. The days of conventional wars are over, everyone knows how we like to move, Tomahawks and Cruise missiles from the nearest body of water for hours on end courtesy of the special forces units on the ground painting targets. Followed by paratroopers and artillery. Iran is not going to fight a war on their soil, they're going to fight a war all over the globe (primarily the west) by proxy of groups like Hezbollah.

War is not a viable option with Iran, which is the reason we are so adamant about them not getting nuclear weapons. We'd have to concede their legitimacy if that happened.

Iran was informed in advance by a third party of a proposal by US intelligence that Iran selects one or two or three empty locations for the US to bomb. This was intended to make everyone happy by saving face for all concerned. Iran refused to play along with this charade, which was ultimately designed to save face for Trump. Nonetheless, Iran was reassured by this offer that the US has no intention of going to war and is trying to find a way out of its quandary; Trump is looking for a way out.

I never got the sense Middle Eastern Islam cares all that much about Islam in other parts. Like I don’t remember them ever really talking about India/ Pakistan. South East Asian Muslims like third cousins to them.
