The Democrats can't save/stop Trump from whatever decision he takes anyway. They don't have the cards. What they can do is make sure they're correctly positioned to get credit for being a suitable, legitimate alternative. Sitting on your hands doesn't do that. It actually blunts the blowback Trump will receive because he can turn around and say "well everyone agreed with me, the Democrats would have done the same thing". As the opposition party, it is the job of the Democrats to showcase why they would be the better choice next time power is up for democratic assignment. That means letting people know why the incumbent party is doing a shytty job, and how you would do a better job. Democrats are just disappearing and assuming people will fill the anti-Trump space with the Democratic ghost instead of the couch, which is a fatal assumption.

There is no alternative yet.

Assuming Trump doesn’t press the third term issue, Republicans can throw him under the bus if they need to. Obama was able to beat Hilary in part cause he had no yes vote on Iraq and his stated position was against the war. Hilary, McCain, and Kerry had to justify their votes.

Except for Republicans who have no shot at running are pumping their chest in support. Everyone else know as far as dropping a bomb Trump will do whatever he wants before needing Congress‘ approval.

What sides will develop after a bombing about what to do have yet to be decided. It would be foolish to be full-throated at this point except to let Americans know why this is a bad idea.

I don’t think WW3 will happen among nations, but instead be a global terrorism campaign. Global North Nations will become more fascist as a result of realizing trillions over the last 20 years was wasted by not going “harder” and this will lead to internal resistance.

I think that Israel and the US (and maybe some other Western countries) want regime change in Iran. However, I am not sure how this will come about. I don't think the US has the same appetite for a ground invasion as it did in the case of Iraq in 2003. I fear that Trump could decide to use a nuke. Seriously.
