But this is a situation that American soldiers should not be in in the first place. Again, I get what you're saying from a pragmatic standpoint, but to reiterate, this is the stupidest war of our lifetimes. The Administration still cannot provide a coherent justification for why this was necessary.
And not only that, we are now hearing reports that the CIA is trying to facilitate a civil war that could spin an already stupid and dangerous situation in to an absolute calamity.
These idiots still cannot articulate a coherent justification for why this was necessary, and they plan to make the situation even worse. Congress should not provide any additional funding for this beyond what would be necessary to remove any American personnel/assets from dangerous areas.
We should not be rewarding this idiocy by providing even more funding for it.

And he isn’t saying he won’t approve funding either and is specifically tying it to an actual plan.
So again, my point still holds. Someone who is against the war can then find themselves later supporting funding. He provided another reason why.

You can't leave our troops stuck in a war zone after a build up and not fund them. Of course they're going to agree to funding despite not wanting this clusterf*ck to take place. Why do you think the administration asked for the money AFTER striking?

If Democrats can't say no to funding a war that is polling at 20% then what good are they? If they can't muster the strength to to say no to keep this war from expanding, what argument are they going to use in the fall? "I opposed this war, but I provided full funding....vote for me"
Ask Hillary how her support for the Iraq war worked out for her presidential ambitions. Ask Kamala how her support for Biden's genocide in Gaza worked out for her.
