idk what the civilian population is if there even is one that lives there but occupation sounds like a pointless pipe dream

better off bombing their infrastructure and moving forward from there

if they're that hell bent on using ground troops go get the uranium(in theory part of the justification for this) but it's buried so who knows how long that would take

:francis:

on the bright side their air defense and navy has been mostly destroyed

It’s Funny because we’ve lost about about 15 billion as well since the start of the war.

The funny part: They sell us oil, we use the oil, they get bombed because they sold us their oil.

I’m no genius, but there is a much simpler solution to whatever the fukk I wake up to everyday.

You’re right. But it’s just a reminder that we don’t have good things because there are a lot of bad people and maybe a strong majority of self interested people.

This is the ace card...90% of Iranian oil transit through this island. If anyone is crazy enough to blow it all up it would be Trump.
Iran will be out of the large scale oil business for at least 5 years. They still have other ways to get the oil around but they will feel the impact big time.

Not a fan of blowing this up because if the regime falls, you've effectively hamstrung the new government and that can create a situation where the regime gets back into power again because of economic issues.

How does blowing up Iranian oil stop them from attacking ships in the strait?

I mean if Iran no longer has incentive to use the strait, then aren’t they more likely to just keep attacking it with drones?

plus American are now closer to where the can be attacked from land on multiple sides or even from Yemen.

What did Sacks says? He's another massive pos. I didn't even realize he had a titled role in this administration. I'm not even sure where I would weigh what he has to say somewhere slightly above or below the IRGC? Do you have a time stamp?

Kharg Island is Iran's largest and primary oil export terminal, handling ~90% of the country's crude oil exports (typically 1.5-2M+ barrels/day, with capacity up to 7M). Oil revenue funds a huge chunk of Iran's government budget and economy. Hitting military targets there risks broader disruption to that critical infrastructure.

If there is 1 person in the world crazy enough to blow up the island its Trump
