JUST IN: In a new interview with The Times of Israel, Donald Trump said the decision on when the war with Iran ends will be a “mutual” one between him and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, highlighting how closely the two leaders are coordinating the conflict.
Trump said he and Netanyahu have “worked together” in the war and claimed they “destroyed a country that would have destroyed Israel,” while adding that he will ultimately decide when the operation ends “at the right time.”
The interview also underscored Trump’s deep alignment with Netanyahu. Trump again demanded that Israel’s president immediately pardon Netanyahu in his ongoing corruption trial, arguing the Israeli leader should be focused on the war instead.
Trump also boasted about his popularity in Israel, joking that support for the war is widespread there and claiming the only thing more popular in the country is his own favorable poll numbers.
