Israel's intelligence penetration of Iran suggests they are quite possibly more aware of Iran's personnel and capabilities than any other nation on Earth. Trump is an idiot who doesn't plan anything, but Netanyahu is not idiot.

I could be wrong, but in terms of cost/benefit analysis, Netanyahu is seizing an opportunity that he may never get again.

The Israeli's may have made some miscalculations in this attack, but I don't think that they are anywhere as delusional as the American leadership. I just think that they are trying to strike while the iron is hot.

I partly agree. Israel has destroyed Iran’s military capabilities and took out a lot of their leadership. They’ve put that country into a dark period. They’ve also wrecked any type of support Iran can give groups like Hezbollah.

The issue is Israel also wants to destabilize Iran and maybe even plunge it into civil war. The Iranian government is stronger than it was before this war with its people. They’ve also restricted media access to what Israel looks like now, which isn’t great.

For me, it makes sense that Israel is fighting a war in an old manor because they are so wedded to the US’s style.

Where are you hearing that Irans military is wrecked ? From all accounts, it appears they never planned on fighting any kind
of "traditional war" and their goal of lobbing missiles at Israel is working.
Not to mention, they live in a natural fortress and any attempt at a ground war will result mass casualties on
ours or Israel's side.
I haven't seen anything that says Iran is on the backfoot, instead, they're exercising their advantages and mopping the floor
with us.

If they maintain the pace (and they have for 2 weeks without falter), not only
will this drastically affect the prices of everything from food to plastic to fuel and so on,
it radically changes their position in the middle east and will likely enrich them far more than
is currently understood as they evict the US from the middle east.

I think we are saying the same thing.

I am not saying Iran is fighting a traditional war.

But Iran's military is definitely damaged. Israel and the US are bombing the nation at will and with no fear of any attack on the planes. Unless they have secret fighter jets in the mountains, they don't have any air force.

But Iran is not fighting the war the US and Israel are fighting, which is why they are effective.

And a move to use JASSMs on the B-52s vs potentially subjecting our more high value assets to a chance of being shot out of the sky
means they'd rather launch from a distance.

This all implies, IMO that Iran is actually successfully fighting this war both economically and kinetically.
I could be wrong, but up to this point, this appears to be working (of course this could all change within another 4 days,
which I acknowledge).

I also will admit that - if we're going by "Traditional warfare" standards they've taken losses (the tankers for example) but I don't
feel this has degraded their actual capabilities (as far as the plan they appear to be executing).

This is like when people started getting Covid in early 2020/late 2019.
The wave is still coming, gas prices have already started to climb, eventually food prices will
too and when the cheap plastic stuff at Walmart doubles in price, the resulting recession (or god forbid DEPRESSION)
