So, Iran's navy, air force and military have been destroyed. They've lost all command and control due to targeted assassinations. Their launchers and missile cities have been taken out with big boom bombs.

And yet, after giving multiple warnings that they will go tit for tat if their energy infrastructure is targeted, Iran seems to now be following through on their statements, with the reports we see coming in now that energy infrastructure is getting hit hard in Qatar and Saudi.

How do the resident doldrums square this discrepancy :jbhmm: @88m3 @Mister Terrific

Same reasoning all those Hezbollah pager attacks meant the end of the terrorist group but somehow these Papatine looking Lebanese are still firing rockets into Israel.

Same as all those Iraqi generals we killed from playing cards meant nothing.

The war just evolves.

Donald Trump believes he can achieve his goals with the mere threat of violence and sanctions.

Someone is going to pull his card. I don't think Americans have the appetite for war right now and it would likely be a losing position come elections.

It's like y'all don't remember pontificating how Hillary was to the right of Trump on foreign policy and in particular the middle east. :mjtf:

Trump isn’t promising to keep up out of war. Just that they won’t be “endless.” :mjlol:

Nah it was clearly the economy if u look at state lines and party id

Trump just thinks everyone is afraid of him.

Meanwhile the entire world gonna be destabilized :mjlol:

Trump gonna get his war. I’m sure it’s been on his presidential vision board for some time :manny:
Shooting Trump bail and running with the idea that it’s all Israel making the call and not the leader of the most powerful military in the world only helps trump avoid accountability.

This is who Trump is. He’s an arrogant bully obsessed with peacocking.

Iran Update Special Report, March 18, 2026
The IDF struck critical Iranian energy infrastructure on March 18, including facilities linked to the South Pars natural gas field and the Asaluyeh processing hub in Bushehr Province. These facilities are central to Iran’s domestic natural gas supply and broader energy system, which supports a significant portion of Iran’s economic activity and regime revenue. Iran exports a small share of its natural gas, primarily to Iraq and Turkey, meaning disruptions will also affect regional energy consumption.

Other Key Takeaways:
The IDF killed Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib in an airstrike on March 18. Khatib was responsible for coordinating the regime’s repression of the Iranian population in his role within the Ministry of Intelligence and Security, including overseeing the regime‘s crackdowns on the Winter 2025-2026 protests and the 2022 Mahsa Amini protests.
The combined force’s decapitation campaign and targeting of security services is reportedly causing paranoia among Iranian regime officials and members of Iranian security services. Israeli strikes targeting internal security services are reportedly hurting “rank-and-file morale” and are driving security forces to sleep in vehicles, mosques, or sports facilities in order to avoid targeting.
Hezbollah claimed 57 attacks targeting Israeli forces and positions in northern Israel and southern Lebanon since CTP-ISW’s last data cut off. The IDF has continued to conduct airstrikes targeting Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, including strikes targeting Hezbollah’s social and financial service network in Lebanon.
