@mastermind @StatUS

all of our reactions are the same :russ:

I am kind of hoping the team falters and doesn't make the postseason. We get back in the lotto in a fantastic class and with new management. I swear the only thing we can hope for at this point is for this team to fail so we can get a new GM. This is just crazy and comedy at this point :pachaha:

Nothing against Webster. He does his job and he can shoot, play some D, and be a good leader in the locker room but not at the entire MLE.

Partial guarantee on the 4th year according to Woj.

That partial guarantee makes a world of difference though :whew:

Looking to next summer.

2014 Salaries:

Nene - $13 million
Beal - $4.5 million
Porter - $4 million
Wall - $13 million (assuming max deal)
Webster - $5.3 million
Maynor - $2 million
Rice - $885K?

Options:
Vesely - $4.4 million
Singleton - $2.6 million

W/out picking up the options, we're sitting at $41 million in total salary.

W/options, we're at roughly $48 million

Expected cap is $62.1 million for next offseason. So we could have anywhere between $12 to $15 million in cap space. Webster's deal makes it likely Ariza won't be here next year, and there's still the question of whether they will bring Okafor back. I don't know if we'll have the room to sign Cousins or someone of that ilk.

We need to trade Ariza and one of Ernie's 1st rounders of the past (Booker, Singleton, Vesley) for a stretch 4...
Like Ted said, we got a team. We good.
Once in your life you will be patient and you will let players develop. You will put players in a position to win. San Antonio doesn't have a better team than us on paper. So you gotta stop thinking some free agent or some highschooler is gonna come here and solve our problems... NOT GONNA HAPPEN

Ariza is as good as gone one way or the other. We will trade him for a decent PF along with one other player that you have listed. BUT, its not guaranteed.
They like the Okafor/Nene combo to start, but Nene is more of a Center overall. And Okafor would ideally be his backup. Salary makes ppl confused about that. But using them that way then frees up the PF spot which is up for grabs. Chris Singleton I truly believe will occupy that spot, he'll earn it or he's tradeable. Ditto with Trevor Booker. He's ferocious and we don't have that without him. Singelton has the makeup to be a decent shooter. Even hits 3's. Booker can be that bruiser. I like that combo and they cheap with crazy upside potential. Somebody said Earl Clark and I'm saying fukk No.

I expect we try to make it work, and if either of those players don't live up to my expectations, hopefully Otto Porter and Glen Rice Jr can be worthy on the 2nd team and the rest will work itself out in time/trade/both.

I just don't believe we HAVE to make any moves as of today. Lets see what Chris and Trev been working on, and if that can translate. They both have barely over a year experience (if you include injuries)
Ditto with John Wall, he's only played in about 2 seasons worth of basketball if you add the injuries. Give us time damnit :damn:

:mjpls: Big men w/ potential like Omer don't just grow on trees, they're gonna want more than some career journeyman that's already worn his welcome out down there :mjpls:

Houston had Ariza already, you think Morey wants him back? :mjpls:

I would like Asik as his salary is VERY reasonable this season and next. Plus he's still very young at 23 years old. He'd lock up the Center spot for a long time.

I'd trade Ariza + Okafor for Asik and Motejunas if I could.
