WHICH IS WHY HE HAD NO PROBLEM KILLING HER
THAN SEE HER COMPLETELY ONE UP HIM.
Same thing different view...being a worthy adversary. She saw his rejection as a challenge, so she did it without him, then wanted to show him that she did what he couldn't, AND without him. In the end, she just longed for his acceptance, and he just wants to always prove that he's the best. Like @Rekkapryde said, it's glorified daddy issues. She pretty much explained it when she took him out of the frozen carbonite.

Sorry about bringing real-world logic into a comic book show, but freezing a squid won't magically turn it into a bullet. It stills weighs the same as the unfrozen squid, right? It would have made more sense to just throw a bunch of chairs and other random heavy objects from around the office in there

I'm getting really tired of you nikkas bringing it up.
Problem is what did it really add to the story? I get it was an homage to the comic HJ but for the purposes of this story it really wasn't necessary in most eyes. It just wasn't executed well.
