I looked up the best inaugural seasons by an expansion team ever based on how well The Vals are doing and it was the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights (never heard of them)

They went to The Finals in 99 :pachaha:

Time to get a new GM in quick and make some moves
Their players wanted more vets so they added vets. Chicago isn't a top free agent destination. They added Vandersloot, Bec Allen, and Atkins was traded for their 3rd pick which was Citron and a 2027 first swap. Seeing how Citron is playing it's bad in hindsight but Atkins is a good player.

The big fukk up was trading the 2026 first to the Lynx for their 2025 11th which is Van Lilth.

Which big free agents were gonna come to Chicago? Were y'all all in on making the playoffs this year or were you not expecting anything? Did the Sky players not beg to add more vets to compete? Maybe I'm wrong there.

The sentiments were mixed on the trade. Maybe not here but even Angel was happy about getting Atkins even if she wanted Miles then Citron.

That 2027 swap was assumed to be not worth much because by then Reese and Cardoso should be competing and the Mystics might not be. It's different now seeing how Kiki and Citron have balled.

The Sky are bad with or without Reese and that's down to roster construction and coaching. But that's not Atkins fault.

CINTRON IS ALREADY BETTER
THAN ATKINS.
SHE WASNT WORTH THE 3RD PICK
ON A 1 YEAR RENTAL DEAL
LET ALONE A 2027 PICK SWAP

SLOOT WAS NEVER THE ANSWER.

YOU BRING YOUR LEADING
SCORER BACK
AND NONE OF THESE ISSUES EXIST

But it wasn't guaranteed Citron was gonna be this good out the gate. With that said it wasn't an A+ trade it just wasn't nearly as bad as the Lynx trade which is WOAT.

Sloot's better than running HVL and Banham at the 1. It was early in the season it may have worked out over time.

And if Carter was worth being in the league another team would have picked her up by now. Obviously, right or wrong, the league sees her as the worst teammate since Tonya Harding :russ:

CARTER WAS ALREADY BLACKBALLED
OUT OF THE LEAGUE WHEN THE SKY
BROUGHT HER IN
SO THATS NOT SAYING MUCH.

SPOON BELIEVED IN HER
AND REELED HER IN.

YOU OBVIOUSLY DONT DRAFT
HVL PERIOD SO IDK WHY YOU MENTIONED HER.

THE SLOOT shyt
WOULDNT HAVE WORKED
AT ALL BECAUSE THE
WHOLE OFFENSE WAS
BEING RAN THROUGH HER
AND SHE WAS ICING OUT
THE TEAMS BEST PLAYER
WHICH APPEARED TO BE
BY DESIGN FROM THE TOP ON DOWN

ANGEL HAD THE TEAM MUCH
MORE COMPETITVE BEFORE
THESE INJURIES HAPPENED
BEFORE THE ALL STAR BREAK

They were bad with Spoon too and who knows what went on in the locker room. When you take a risk thems the breaks.

I was just saying trading that pick period was WOAT.

Tash was also trying to do her own thing on the Fever and we saw what happened with Bonner. Tash decided to fall back and play more off the Big 3 and Bonner left because she didn't wanna do that. Sloot's a vet it's nothing to say they wouldn't have figured it out and the team would've been better for it.

1. SPOONS ROSTER WAS WORSE
AND SHE HAD THEM IN THE
8TH SEED AT OLYMPIC BREAK...
2 GMS BACK OF THE 6TH SEED
AND 3 GAMES AHEAD OF THE 9TH SEED.

2. HE TRADED MABREY,
AND CARTER GOT COVID
SO IT WAS JUST THE ROOKIES
AND BUMS FOR A GOOD PART OF
2ND HALF.

3. CARTER COMES BACK
THEN ANGEL GOES DOWN
FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.
THEY WERE TIED FOR 8TH
AT THAT POINT AND FINISHED
THE SEASON 1-5 AFTERWARDS.

WERE YOU EVEN WATCHING
LAST SEASON?

THERES ABSOLUTELY NO REASON
SPOON SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED.
SHE OVERACHIEVED WITH THAT ROSTER AND CIRCUMSTANCES.
