They actually try to give them rest. The NBA season long before any of us were born was condensed into 5 months. Back to backs were normal and 4 or 5 games per week occurred throughout the season. Back then the league was also physical without guaranteed contracts. So that's why the average player played 11 or 12 seasons. Rest is important. Don't forget they are coming straight from the NCAA tournament into the league and training camp a month later.

What you're also failing to forget is that the stadiums aren't exclusive to just the WNBA. There are reasons for the scheduling that neither one of us knows, but I'm sure it has to do with the building usage also.

The scheduling is terrible. You'll have no games one day, 3 games the next, 1 game the next, and 5 games with most of them on at the same time.
And the players keep talking about the schedule and more games leading to injuries yet their coaches have them on the court late in the 4th in blowouts.
