I think Yukes got burnt out making WWE games each year. Their non WWE games shows that they were being held back by THQ, 2K, and WWE.

Somebody from THQ mentioned in a video around the time 2K20 was getting roasted that they were getting frustrated with Yukes as well so I guess it's believable.
