Just because you have a degree doesn't mean you're guaranteed a job.

To get some silly little piece of paper. I've graduated college, but I've only learned 3 things
-No one gives a shyt
-I don't know shyt
-I have no "work experience."

If I could do it over I would not waste my time in college.

Sounds like you didn't major in Engineering I got classmates making between 50-65K right out of college

Breh I'm lost this nikka isn't going to be an officer or going to the Air Force :why:
I've explained on pg.1 why I'm not going the officer route. As for why I'm not going into the Air Force- that particular branch just doesn't appeal to me. Plus, the Army gives you greater liberty to choose your job. In the Airforce, if you want to ship out in any reasonably short time frame, you often have to just let them throw you in any job they need you in.

@Madrasas I know everyone dogging you for joining the army but in the grand scheme of things the only real difference between the branches are the day to day lifestyles and overall culture. And Air Force don't appeal to you, so other then that everything else is based on your job, the people you work with, and most importantly your own mindset. You're situation could be good or bad regardless of the branch you're in.

:manny:OCS is extremely competitive. How is a nikka like me, who hasn't held a job in over 4 years and has only a slightly above mediocre GPA, gonna compete with a trilingual Eagle Scout with a dozen glowing letters of recommendation?

Plus, I don't see many benefits in being an officer, with the exception of cushier living conditions and more money (neither are terribly important to me. I'd much rather learn to become proficient at my job).

That kind of logic and attitude shows me that you made the right choice NOT to go officer. :dame:

BTW There are other ways to go Officer besides OCS and that are easier than OCS. Props to your recruiter for being a good liar.:ehh:

At least you picked a MOS that can translate well into the civilian world. Good luck on your journey.
