The Truth
I've already taken the ASVAB and I scored well on it. But my GPA is well below 3.0 though. And yes, your job IS guaranteed as an enlisted, once you sign the contract- as long as you don't flunk out of your AIT for that job, or fail to meet other requirements.

I'm not making excuses, it's just not as simple as graduating college with a Bachelors, and then walking into an officer position in the Army. If it were this easy, then everyone that graduates would be doing it and going Officer just to make the $$$. The Army (along with the other branches) has a very stringent and selective process before you are selected.
Bruh, i did 8 years. I dont remember how Navy OCS supposedly was, but it wouldve definitely been better going officer for the training, pay, and honestly it looks better when you get out or decide to go contractor (even though most just retire as officers first)

Officer Candidate School and Army OCS Requirements | GoArmy.com

All you had to do was finish basic and go straight to OCS. Ive never heard about the 3.0 unless you were in ROTC maybe.

And depending on the field you can get direct commissioned. Thats actually how i knew more people who just came in as officers. My cousin is a doctor and she was offered direct commission to Army and a few other branches but turned it down. People with legit degrees arent jumping at the chance to go into the Army like you think

Like i said, i wouldve attempted. But it is what it is. Youre better off saying you wasnt interested because everything else sounds like they got over.

But its not bad.. Atleast youre an E4 and can go warrant if you care

Edit:

Actually, it says on this site that as of 2 years ago getting in OCS Army only required a 2.0-2.5 to be competitive:upsetfavre:

Its not.:mjlol: He's a soldier/rifleman first

He will get the training, some experience and the MOS on his DD214 and ATTRS transcript.

However, there's something called "The Needs of the Army" If the Army needs this E4 to pour 250 gallons of human waste into a hole in the the middle of nowhere in Afghanistan and burn it with diesel everyday for a year and pull tower duty with no AC, guess what he's going to be doing?

Officers ain't doing that shyt:dame: We just gonna look at you making the :scust::mjcry:face after you :salute:us.

Then we're going to bust out with the:whew::lolbron::mjlol::russ: when you're not looking.

Not he won't be will be working long shifts trying to keep the or rate up in a combat aviation bridge...That's what they work around the clock maintaining the rotary wings.

He didn't find the right recruiter that's all he needed to find an officer recruiter of course an enlisted recruiter will push you in...And 15T is one of the hot MOSs right now for 10- levels as most of them get out die to the lousy work hours and development opportunities.

Yup

He was talking to an enlisted recruiter now that i think about it.

Not sure if there were different recruiters but a lot of that other shyt i never heard of like letters of recommendations for civilians and etc., unless you were Active Duty trying to go Officer thats one thing. Ive heard of it then but thats still not hard. Find a CO or a college professor thst likes you and just ask.

Hell, you could even write it for them

Yeah each recruiting battalion has officer recruiters...The only thing you generally have to do is possess a degree and get a letter of recommendation from "upstanding citizen" usually....But it's more common to see the enlisted recruiters..

People don't ask enough questions before they join...

If a bolt were to be misplaced and a helicopter full of murderous invading cacs fell out of the sky, the universe would understand.

Always thought that was crazy that they skip u to petty officer for a degree.
You haven't even done bootcamp and you come in as the same rank as Ripcord and Covergirl from GI Joe. :dead:

Yeah you dont come in as Enlisted 1 (E1/private) you come in as E3 or E4 if you have a degree.. petty officer rank which is the equivilent of specialist or corporal, right under sergeant.

In fact, E4 puts you at an immediate higher rank than some of the more obscure GI Joes that are only E3s... :dead: so when you think about it its pretty crazy system to use education to determine military rank.
If on the cartoon they were like "Cobra depleted our forces, but no worries we got some college grads from MIT... they can help" Serpentor would of beat the shyt outta them.

:mjlol:Characters with a Corporal (E-4) rank

Oh... ha.
Yeah used to read the GI Joe comics thats how I knew the ranks offhand. There is more military stiff in the comics than the old cartoon. Like on the cartoon its all lasers and parachutes when planes explode. In the comics its bullets and bodybags.

Cobra Commander kills like 20 Joes personally.
He was ISIS before there was an ISIS.
One time he kicked a puppy in the face. That dude gives 0 fukks. :mjlol:

Duke is E-8 I believe... might be E-7 toward the beginning. General Hawk is O-9 with special clerances from the president to due shyt like declare cities under Joint Military (aka GI Joe) control in emergencies. The leader of the GI Joes holds a special fictional goverment clerance that acts as a dual top rank in all military branches (Army, Navy, AF, etc... even coast guard)
