Yeah it be like that in the navy as well. I used to make my supervisors look good af.. Help them get rank and usually they did the same

But i didnt know that. I know you guys test and have quotas either.

Then we had the EP bullshyt where theres only one EP amongst an entire rank/rating that usually went to the best ass kisser.

It was just a bunch of shyt against a lot of people making rank. Theyll be like only 5% of the entire navy at that Rank/Rating that made it and the quotas always changed depending on what the Navy assumed they needed. I didnt know Army had it like that.

We had people that got capped because theyve tested a million times and never made rank because their shyt was basically closed up and they were on the verge of getting kicked out because of it...

Enlisted nikka problems though:dame:

Yeah all promotions (Senior Enlisted) are mandated by the senate and Autorized by congress for the branch and Mos/rate/afsc so some years they may only pick up 2% some years 20% can get picked up...Usually the bigger the specialty the more the allocations for promotions it will be.

I can always put in my warrant officer packet after I've been in for a while.

Its even more competitive from what I hear..
But best of luck to you

Only good think about being your age and coming into the service is that you're going to be around a lot of young p*ssy that you will easily have the advantage over bc all of the other e-1 -E-4 are going to too young and dumb... Keep us updated on all the hoes you smashing :smugbiden:

Yup, I went USAF and don't regret it at all. The Army power generator technicians used to borrow our gens in Baghdad and ,more often than not bring it back with scored pistons, bent push rods and shyt :deadmanny: like that. Used to piss me the fukk off having to hold Army cats' hands on technical issues when we had our own shyt to maintain. I respect all branches though.

Fam who went to Meps, You fukking up not taking advantage your degree. You basically accepted less pay, less automomy and becoming a second class citizen throughout your enlistment. You're going to be kicking yourself in the ass when you figure that out bro:sitdown:

Regardless, fukk that Furious styles bullshyt fam, congrats on doing what you need to do to get what you need to survive. :salute:

I'm living comfortably based off of taking that first step towards getting out of the streets at 19. :ahh:

Bruh you should've went airforce ...you're going to realize that as soon as you start meeting people who've been in longer or are from other branches (I'm in the Air Force and I was on a joint base with the army. so I interacted with them daily, and know the BS they go through) ...but with that being said military is a great opportunity especially since you're starting off as an E4 as soon as you get in. Plus you have a degree already? You're gunna be Einstein to those army nikkas when you get in :russ:

Air Force Hooah!

Ain't it mane?:steviej:

The Army cats usually were as dull as a butter knife and a good amount of the NCOs in the AF had switched from the Army/Marines.

Air Force Life :win:

Respect to all brothers in arms, no matter the branch tho.

nikkas confuse the shyt out of me. Bro is trying to better himself and nikkas in here talking that white man's Army shyt.

I heard the same shyt when I joined. nikkas was clowning me and shyt, but they couldn't see the vision. Most of them nikkas are still doing the same shyt they were before I left if they aren't dead. Get in and get that tuition assistance, GI Bill, honorable discharge, and come on home on the ball Fam.

I've explained on pg.1 why I'm not going the officer route. As for why I'm not going into the Air Force- that particular branch just doesn't appeal to me. Plus, the Army gives you greater liberty to choose your job. In the Airforce, if you want to ship out in any reasonably short time frame, you often have to just let them throw you in any job they need you in.

:ohhh:

False statement on job selection in the Force Fam.

I had a score of 87 on the ASVAB and got to pick almost whatever I wanted. I ended up choosing Civil Engineering, specifically Electrical Power Production Technician. I did my research and the average entry salary for that profession in 01 was $62,000 a year. I came home to a field generator technician job at CAT $54,000 a year. I'm at around $83,000 now give or take some O/T. I didn't even know this shyt existed before the AF:blessed:

If you scored low that's on you.

Naw everybody usually starts at E2 but can get E3 after leaving tech school depending on what kind of contract they agree on, or apparently even higher depending on if they have a degree already. ( I got E4 about a year ago and I've been in for three years and some change ...OPs about to start off where it took me about about two years to get. So he's in a good position)

:mjcry: I started out Airmen Basic......:sadcam:

Don't finish traditional high school and have a kid at 16 bros......:whew:

I didn't say the Airforce doesn't allow you to choose your job. I said that if you want to be able to ship out relatively soon after you sign the contract, you often have to let them put you where they need you. I know a guy who joined the airforce and had to wait a year to ship out to be in the job he wanted.

Salute! You Prime Beef or Red Horse?

I'm from Little Rock Fam and if I can get on at CAT around this racist mufukka you should be good in Memphis since it's damn near the same.. I worked with some of the Memphis caterpillar dealership cats at the Pyramid when they were converting it to Bass Pro testing back-up UPS systems. The dealer up there in Memphis is called Thompson Cat for future reference if you go back home.

I put a resume on Monster and was hired two months after I separated.

It's a specialty field so you are a valuable asset in small applicant pool, even if you're only decent at troubleshooting. I can't lie though, it's a different world out here in the Civ world.Get it how you live. Safety is not important to to he private sector. I saw a dude get electrocuted fukking around changing phase rotation in a transfer switch. You know that plastic guard over the bus bars? He took that off because access was easier and our supervisor was pushing the man to finish. He Lost his balance and literally kissed the bus bars....:scust:

Stay safe Fam.
