Man these J-Arabs dont want to hear that.....

A O.G. dude put out there flat and plain....

"they not telling the real story of our people and where we come from"
nikkaz is so far removed from what is really goin on and how jay has basically sold out his own people.you can hear it in his music and how he talks. honestly the only filthy rich niccuh making a diff in our communities off the top is magic johnson. none of these entertainers/athletes STAND 4 ANYTHING ....they basically riding the wave instead of making any .....in fear of upsetting their cushy lifestyle with gwenyth and chris types......imagine if all the blk millionares came together and took a stand on the inequalities that exist despite that we basically are 50% of the consumers of the american economy...ok too intelligent

response to harry belafonte talking real shyt on here will be

1-he is irrelavent
2- he is old
3- he is a hater

Jay is supposed to teach us how to fish?

All due respect to Mr. Belafonte, but it seems like he was talking to Beans back in '09.

What would you suggest Jay do to be more "socially responsible"?

I get that...but wht I'm saying is they found time to speak up for homos but did not speak up for any real issues as they relate to the black community

Like stay in school and stop doing crimes, accumulating criminal records which will fukk up he rest of your life? Stop making babies you cant afford? Stop creating broken families? Stop running around and shooting each other?

Because these are the major issues facing our community. Its not whitey keeping us down anymore. Racism still exists yes and it always will, but most of our real issues are SELF-INFLICTED today.

Do we need Jay-Z or any celebrity to tell us these things? If we do, we LOST.

You're quite right his famous for being a Rapper, but its the time of Rapper he is and Man he is that would soldier more responsibility. You say he 'sometimes' Raps about his drug dealing past i think he always raps about it .... how many albums and his content remains and his 45.

Hov is also quick to boast and brag, about how he is the greatest negro ever alive and how we should love him etc, but really what has he done but usher in a bunch of MC's who boast they are hustlers not rappers, and in it for the money.

Not only was he cancer on the mic but he is cancer off the mic, yet this is the individual the first rapper on Oprah's chair. I have never seen him do anything positive if MTV cameras are not present cracking wells, or being an UN ambassador like every other popstar from geri halliwell to shakira do.

Eddie Murphy ushered in every talented comedian to work with him or on his projects from chris rock to katt williams to kevin hart and the list goes on, thats why eddie murphy is loved and respected.

Hov is 45, and what positive has he done in his field of supposed musician who spent decades saying his not in it for the music but the dollars.

The Man is like 45 :noah: :leostare:

this place may b 2 ignorant for this but until yall understand the systematic ways in which our communities r destroyed with our own ppl and culture u will continue on this " but he gives to charity" " oh but hov did that so u wont have to go thru that" bs. belafonte has a serious point here and it shudnt be taken lightly. jay is more focused with fitting in and being part of the white elite than "saving the black community". tax deductible things will make any1 seem like a good samaratin. its like when dealers sell poison to their communities all yr round then on thanksgiving they come n give out turkeys n say " look at all ive done". if ya really wanna understand why harry belafonte is completely right check this doc out. at some point in thedocumentary they point out exactly what were talking about here. intereesting piece if ur not a complete moron.

and if u happen to like that one here is another that is great as well.

educate urselves brehs cuz the white man and these uncle tom rappers aint gon do it for u. jayz and diddy and the rest of these clowns r the fbi's and cointelpros dream. look past the smoke screens n u might see a lil light fellas cuzz alot of yall r just ignorant as hell. YES he does have a social responsibility. and YES he is doing good things like setting an example with the way they did their marriage n all but lets not applaud the man like if that shouldnt be expected of a black man. lets not act like jay doesnt have enough $$ already. if he wanted to rap about more serious stuff he could cuz he doesnt really need the $$ u get from selling ppl poison but he seems to want more $$ and acceptance from the whites. ud think dudes wud say "ima make this money then stick it to these devils wen i get the chance n be a true "che guevara wit bling on". but it seems like some of u feel like when jayz wins yal win as well.

Do you believe that Jay has more social responsibility than you or I?

Do you believe that Jay has more social responsibility than you or I?

we all have a social responsibility to an extent but we do not influence trends and ppls perception the way jay does. u and i are what the hip hop community wud call irrelevant in terms of social responsibility compared to him.

if tomorrow jay up and said he only uses scott toilet tissue nikkas wud be burnin their charmin and marcal roll of toilet paper tryna follow dudes trend.

rappers can act like they dont affect their communities all they want and give the movie comparison but these nikkas try to make it seem cool to sell drugs as longn as u get rich. etc. not singling jay out cuz there r ppl who do it worse. but at this point u wud think hed grow up a little with the subject matter. how many normal 45 yr olds spend so much time bragging about million dollar watches n paintings n comparin nikkas lives to his daughters room?

ppl dont understand the impact he wud make on ppls thinking in the hood if he were to drop subject matter like on "Untitled" or distant relatives. instead the man wants to call himself fred hampton reincarnated while contributing to the detrement of our ppl. so YES he does have more social responsibility than we do it comes with the territory. u wud think that after making so much money dude wud start talking about shyt with social relevance and empowering our youth to do more than just get rich as hell. something as simple as that would be HUGE for us "minorities". but i dont think his old white n flabby millionaire homies wud like a bunch of enlightened and angry hip hoppers starting any movements.

and this is with whom u all place ur faith

ps theres a reason why tupac was viewed as such a threat by the whites in power. an intelligent man with the ability and will to uplift a nation of oppressed ppl is no good if u wanna maintain control. but control is easier wen ppl r tryna hustle for 2 mths to buy what jayz is wearing cuz he said his daughters shoes r more expensive than ur whole outfit.

Its not the 60's anymore. The biggest thing we as individuals can do to improve our current conditions is to be accountable for ourselves and take care of our own families. Be our own role models.

We as Black people are nowhere near the place, where we can think like this. We still got a lot of work to do, and I know it's fukked up, but we can't act like White people. when get success. We got a history, that still has a heavy burden on our present.

How can Jay-Z sell out when he was never some kind of conscious artist? It has been about the money from day 1 with Jay. Mafioso rap is not about talking about the hoods problems and how to fix em. He was a gangsta rapper. And gangstas dgaf about who's giving them money. If a crack dealer finds more money in ecstacy and they happen to be bought primarily white, the fukk you think he's gonna do keep selling crack? I cant be mad at Harry Belafonte because he has done some work for the black community and if it wasnt for him we wouldnt have Obama. And before you try to :what: me look that shyt up.

Middle class Black people have been in a place where they can think like this since Reconstruction. Black folks who have made it out the hood or are currently working on it think like this everyday too.

At some point we gotta start addressing the albatross around our collective necks that is personal accountability.

We all know the history. Its one of the only things you learn about us with a public school education. Slavery, Harlem Renaissance (if your lucky), Jim Crow, MLK...

Whats up with some forward thinking?
