We are so accustomed to normalizing bull shyt behavior that we expect it to show up in all or our relationships. People think "love" has to come with grief, strife, and drama when it does not.


This is too true. I learned from my parents (who argued every night for years on end) what I did not want in a relationship. I ended up finding my future wife at 21 y/o (got married in our 30s) and we don't communicate through argument. We laid down rules early in the relationship where if we feel a situation was escalating, we'd leave it alone for a few and come back when our emotions aren't ruling our thoughts. Almost everytime we both will try to recognize each others perspective, agree on a solution, and keep it moving. The love, trust, and ability to communicate is paramount to making it work. You can't be right all the time. It is hard to do but is necessary.
