scorpio is already under powered
well I get the feeling that, in the beginning at least, the only way to access this tech will be to hook up your Scorpio to a computer monitorWell you guys swear PC's are so popular,HTPC's/etc.
Yes, the answer is PC. Games and just internet related stuff. As we move forward into the future then one thing we can count on is more interactivity. So I expect all my devices to be able to sync with each other. Phone, tablet, tv, pc/etc.
Consoles will have their roles as well. I just don't believe that alone would be enough to even warrant all that. It would make more sense to just make monitors designed for consoles imo
I was thinking about that too. it will take effort to add this option to gamesMore tech developers aren't going to properly utilize![]()
most people won't benefit from this because no TV on the market yet supports this. I'm glad I held off on buying a 2016 OLED TV though. In 2018 we'll start getting TVs that support it.

devs gonna need to unlock the framerate to really take advantage of this. I'm not sure how exactly vsync is handled on consoles, but it does seem to be a per game thing
Game devs don't have to utilize it, it's up to TV manufacturers to support adaptive sync like PC monitor makers

Question from a layman,This is pretty good news for the enthusiasts. This won't really mean much for people right now but I suspect late next year some UHDTV makers will have HDMI 2.1 support.
Though I did post about this a while ago, when HDMI 2.1 was revealed.
New HDMI 2.1 Specs Revealed: 8K/60hz, Variable Refresh Rates, 4K120hz, Dynamic HDR
Funny how the OP suddenly cares about HDMI 2.1 stuff.![]()
You'll be spending money twice. You could just cop a 1080P freesync supported monitor now and see but I'd rather wait until the thing is out and see how it fares because you don't even know what games will have unlocked framerates which will benefit from it due to the variable fps.Question from a layman,
If I wanted to get the best performance regarding input lag in multiplayer games when I get the Scorpio, should I have a separate 1080P gaming monitor to game on and save the 4K for movies/single player experiences where input lag is not an issue?
I'm trying to see if it would benefit me now to just cop a nice, but discounted, gaming monitor that has that freesync in anticipation.
Thanks, breh. Rep + Dap.You'll be spending money twice. It'll be expensive to get a very low input lag monitor that supports Freesync2 and 4K next year as they don't even have nothing really out now.
The 360 was more powerful too but you're still conditioned to be in denial about itIt's funny how y'all talking so much smack for a system that won't be out for another 6 months. While the PlayStation just keep adding games to their library dumb Xbox once again trying to change the narrative as if the games aren't the most important thing with "gaming".
Remember gaming is a about Games and not the console.
The original Xbox was more powerful than the PS2, but guess what it didn't matter. The PlayStation universe will always have the games And the better AAA exclusives.
Microsoft need to step up with the exclusives or all that power is going to go to waste.
