My Pops Forever RIP
You guys want to make these arguments about how rooting for one team is dumb because that team doesn't care about us as fans. No shyt.
None of these teams care about us and we could all be doing something else much more productive with our time than watching a bunch of grown men, who don't know or care about us play a kids game.

I'm a Colts fan. Under no illusions. I'm aware that no one on the team is giving back the same loyalty to me.
Die hard fans are the worst of them all? No these dudes who root for multiple colleges, oh I'm a UNC BB / FSU FB fan are worst. These dudes who bandwagon and run around like frontrunners are the wrost.

But did they like teams or certain players and good plays?

I guess often it comes across (not singling you out but being lazy) as people that don't have a true "team" or whatever aren't real fans, or don't know anything about the sport.

Like I'm not a 49er fan or a Viking fan. There are players on both teams I like, so I'll watch for that (fantasy football too of course) but I don't care who wins, I just want to see good football. This game is shyt though
Nah it was i like the cowbOys and the steelers but if San Fran plays then I don't know who to root for gtfoh

Fair, but I don't think everyone that has more than one team they like is a bandwagon fan (which I do agree is annoying) but if I'm say a steelers fan and leveon bell is my current favorite player.. I'm not suddenly gonna hate bell if he got traded, and if a team ends up with 3-4 players I like from college or trades I'm probably gonna start watching that team more.
I always wondered how that was "supposed to work".. If my favorite player from college go to my favorite pro teams rival, am I not supposed to care about him anymore? I am a FSU fan because I found out Deon went there, but couldn't give a fukk about the cowboys however being from DC and hating the skins more I tend to root for the cowboys when they play.. so does that make me any less of a real fan, I never been to fsu but I have been a fan since like 94..
No such thing as a 2nd team to me. If you're a casual fan of the sport, then cool, but don't go bandwagoning if you claim to be a die hard fan of another team. That's weak.
I am a dolphins fan unfortunately, but that was because of dan marino, so I have been ride or die do to a player.. Why cant I root for another team that has players that remind me of marino? as long as I don't act like I been a fan the whole time.
In today's sports world, with free agency trades and injuries... the general replace-ability of parts... it kind of makes more sense to like a player than a team.

It's not how I personally grew up watching, but i don't begrudge people for it, really.

I like more teams now than I did when I was a teenager/kid. There are more playing styles that I appreciate (across sports) and there is more access to watch them. :manny:

Exactly, back in the day, the team picked the local star and they stayed there their whole career, but now with free agency your team will cut a good player just to save money. How can you stay completely loyal to a team that cuts players you like for no reason, or that has changed the style of play you loved do to hiring a new coach?

I agree with the first part especially, for me, as it pertains to basketball. I grew up in Buffalo so I'm a die hard Bills fan because that's the home team. But I can't possibly have that same passion for any NBA team. There are certain players whose stories and/or games I may like. That's how I choose who to root for in basketball and make no apologies about this. :yeshrug:

As a person who roots both ways, I think both have their advantages.

The thing I don't like is that bandwagon ish. That ride whoever's hot wave. Nah that's wack. Any player I'm feeling, I was feeling before they got to the league and I ride with them til the end. I'm still a die hard Vick and Tebow fan, I don't gaf. :pachaha:

Basicaly that's the only thing wrong with it, If you say I am a fan of the sport then cool, but don't be a fan of the top 2-3 teams in every sport and try to act like you been there from the beginning. And if you claim a team you have to root for that team all the time, you cant be like :many: win they lose in the playoffs and say "that's my other team" so I don't care.. or even worse talk shyt all season then when they lose be like "I don't really care about football like that, that's that bullshyt..
