The run off of late stage capitalism …they tried to milk every single dollar they could put if these gentrified areas and when their revenue projections began coming in underwater instead of blame their own greed they go to the tried and true culture wars about “unsafe liberal areas” as the deflection publicly

As a finance person you literally take theft into account in your projections. Anyone who's ever worked in finance knows this.

Not questioning what companies do internally. My question surrounds the infographic that the X thread starter is using in the OP.

Is the infographic alone capturing the full story for him to arrive at his conclusion?

How many of those crimes were unreported? Shoplifters are bad news, and current laws in certain metro areas don't serve as a deterrent.
The in-store measures they have to take, like LOCKING shyt up hurts sales because legit shoppers are discouraged from making purchases.

That social media guy and others are juelzing. They supported certain criminal justice reforms, and hearing about the economic impact of those reforms makes them feel awkward. That's where the juelzing comes from.
The only thing I agree with here is stores that have things like razors locked. If I see that in any store I'm not shopping at that location luckily in my neck of the woods the big box stores don't do that. I don't know it irks me but it does. Call it hood trauma I guess cause when they did that where I was growing up it meant they think we all steal.

People will rather call retailers liars than admit that there's a problem in these communities and that's why they struggle to attract or keep existing businesses.
Target specifically alienated a large swath of folks by catering to the mental illness community which had a real effect. Can just look at the rest of the retailers in San Fran closing up shop to know it ain’t just a target problem in shytholes like that

As if those two things are mutually exclusive. I hate when people bring up other shyt to deflect from the point.

Ok, so we have problems in our community…but what the fukk that got to do with companies lying on us when the data conflicts with what they’re saying? :hhh:

This. I would think the majority of shop lifters don't get caught.
Uhhh if you’re presuming that there’s unreported shoplifting happening at the stores that are closing wouldn’t it be rather logical to assume the same is happening at the stores that aren’t :dahell:

either way tho if the issue was actually shoplifting its logically inconsistent to not close the stores where there’s that vast of a uptick in cases as noted in those tweets
