You’re saying “fukk liking someone” not realizing liking someone is how you turn in a lot of votes. If people think you’re a duplicitous snake like a lot of people thought of Hillary Clinton then people don’t really like you and ergo, don’t vote for you.

If you don’t get the votes you don’t get the wins. Trump gets more Supreme Court seats if you don’t start winning, so the democrats in general better start making the people whose votes they lost like them again or we get to enjoy 7 years of trump instead of 4.

You and quite frankly me are all worried about racism and prejudice but Bernie sanders is telling these people how to win votes without appealing to racial prejudices. You run on ideas they care about and not play to racial prejudices. Hell you want twice the votes, you run on ideas that both these cacs in rural Iowa love but also the black folks in Gary Indiana love. This includes loss of jobs and healthcare.

You’re chastising people for not voting for your candidate instead of asking them why and making changes to make sure they vote for you again.

Not only did you have a lot of cases where people voted obama twice and then voted trump. You had a lot of cases where local candidates of democrats won a district while trump won the district. So there is another clue as to what might be wrong. Why would someone vote for the local democrat, possibly obama twice, and then vote Trump ? Sounds like maybe the common denominator and problem was that the most detestable person on the ballot was the democratic presidential candidate.

I want to preface this by saying that I get where you're coming from. I do, I really do. So when I critique this point, I want you to know that I do get your position.

However, voting is not American Idol. It's not a popularity contest. It's not something you should do based on personality. It is NOT the responsibility of the candidate to make people like him or her personally. It is the responsibility of the VOTER to know what the fukk they're actually voting for.

So, if the voter doesn't take that responsibility, and then a nightmare SCOTUS strips their rights, it's not Hillary's fault that she just didn't make people like her enough. You could go to her website and see her positions on everything down the line, and there was so much media outside of the talking head bullshyt channels that laid out their positions on everything. The Scientific American comparison between their responses to key science questions, for example, should have been enough for any rational person to disqualify Trump immediately.

The fault lies in the voters, and now they're gonna get fukked. Those morons in Battle Creek, Michigan or Murfreesboro, Tennessee or wherever who were stupid enough to think that the GOP and Trump were interested in helping them out are gonna get fukked. The liberals in Berkeley and Soho who just couldn't see Hillary as anything but duplicitous and decided that voting Green was a good idea are gonna get fukked, too. And ultimately, the power lay with those people to stop this. It's their fault, and only their fault. This is especially true because the information they needed lay in one 45-minute scan through a bunch of policy articles and tweets on their cell phones. There was no excuse for these people to make such bad choices.

Why do you keep defending Bernie's tone-deafness?

Look, I understand the desire to get beyond "identity politics" and appealing on a broader economic message, but this shyt just smacks of neglect for people who RIGHT NOW are facing Trump oppression and who didn't vote for Trump.

NO ONE speaks for the Blue Base.

Its like asking why kids prefer cartoons to C-SPAN. Why do kids like candy over oatmeal?

She literally talked about creating infrastructure policies (that would lead to jobs, of course) in her campaign policies on her website, in speaking engagements, and in her ads.

I also never talked about her expanding coverage. I talked about her strengthening O'Care, including protecting CHIP (which is going to get destroyed in this wealth-theft bill they're about to pass) and making sure that the government continued to actually fund their share of the payments/support the Medicare expansion.

So, you know...making O'Care incrementally better.
But she also ran tons of ads on how “rude and mean” trump and while trump is cross crossing these rural towns that Hillary didn’t even touch down in telling them he bringing the jobs back and getting rid of trade agreements, Hillary was taking a month off on the trail probably because of illness and going to thousand dollar a plate dinners.

The only time she was mentioning this stuff was during the debates which isnt enough.

Plus people on the democratic side without any partisan affiliation will tell you the consensus is her campaign and campaign strategy was awful. Hell if I was to bank on one thing being responsible for her losing it would be her awful campaign.
See this. Good story on the disaster that was her campaign. A lot of this is inexcusable.

How Clinton lost Michigan — and blew the election

Always have to include the Obama quote for why he won these places and Hillary lost.

During a candid and bittersweet post-election news conference in the White House, Obama signaled to Democrats a need to emphasize a 50-state strategy, citing his success in Iowa as an outline of an effective campaign.

“You know, I won Iowa not because the demographics dictated that I would win Iowa. It was because I spent 87 days going to every small town and fair and fish fry and VFW hall, and there were some counties where I might have lost, but maybe I lost by 20 points instead of 50 points,” Obama said. “There are some counties maybe I won that people didn’t expect because people had a chance to see you and listen to you and get a sense of who you stood for and who you were fighting for.”

PRECISELY! :salute:

This is why I don't blame Hillary as much as people want me to. Its like you want her to have lied more to people. She told the truth and they hated her for it. If idiots are still legally allowed to vote, you can't blame idiots for voting like idiots.

I mean, this stuff was out there. Are people in Michigan not able to access the internet? Are simple Google searches to find the official websites of the candidates too hard for them to execute? You keep trying to blame Hillary Clinton for the ignorance, laziness, and bad decision making of a bunch of voters.

You want to get rid of trump and stop trump oppression? You win Wisconsin and Michigan. It really is that simple. Nothing else matters if you don’t do that. I don’t care how many feel good words and ideas democrats have, if you don’t have power it don’t mean shyt. Better figure out how to win Wisconsin and Michigan or there will be a lot more pain to come. End of story. Period.

No

No

No.

Idiots get to vote.

Stop absolving adults for their complicity in voting like idiots.

This is what I'm talking about. Trump voters LITERALLY told you what they wanted in Trump and you keep trying to redefine it.

Right, these voters talk about how mature they are yet you act surprised when they tell and show you WHO they are.

See and I saw a lot of democrats say this during the camapain which is the epitome of their issue.

“Look on the internet for my platform” is not a good enough replacement for on the ground talking to people face to face not to mention not inspiring. This is just politics 101 and democrats have lost sight of the basics. Trump didn’t.

Once again, two time WINNER Obama

So, we're having two different conversations here.

Look, I agree that the next Democratic candidate for POTUS should run a fifty-state strategy with the DNC and bust their asses doing as many events with voters as possible instead of just fund-raising.

That does NOT absolve the voters. No candidate should NEED to do that. Do you know why? Voters act like this is a game where they need to be coddled and get their dikks sucked and told how great and special they are and how everything is unfair for them and the candidate will fix it.

fukk that.

Voters shouldn't have to be led by the hand to making a simple, rational choice. Voting is a big fukking deal and the person you vote for will change your life and the lives of your kids and grandkids. If a voter's response to that is, "But Hillary didn't come personally talk to me and tell me that my job banging a wrench against a pipe is going to come back from Bangladesh and I'll make 90K a year doing it, and it's TOO HARD to go online and find out what she wants to do about jobs in America" then what can you say except that this voter shouldn't be allowed to vote because s/he is a fukking moron who can't or won't make adult choices.

This is an interesting point though. Being on the ground certainly paid dividends, but Trump's grassroots campaign was also heavily digital and I think people saying this is the issue is certainly undervaluing the affects of social media on the campaign.

These people were astutely aware of every potential scandal involving democrats/liberal/etc largely based on their online presence. I'm not saying this to discount the importance of engaging voters directly in person, but 12 months later we can safely say that 13% of the people who voted for Trump did so as a Hail Mary when they could have easily won with a field goal.
