I don't think they underachieved it's just they had a time where they were red hot then other younger groups came in and too their shine. It's just the way of the music business.

they didn't crossover so there was a limit to sales. especially when you can't mix dance floor rap into their songs.

when beyonce left DC she headed in that direction.

EV were too soulful and too brehette, while not being genius enough for the masses.

I don't think they were ever trying to be a pop group like destiny's child. To me they always intend to reach black audiences, and that's what they did with the exception of don't let go.

my point is (and i thought i made it clear) was that the path they took limited how much they could sell.
