As a person with family members suffering from mental health issues, I hate when people try to treat them as blameless innocents incapable of making choices, instead of normal people.
Its disrespectful to them, and to everybody who is living a relatively normal life in spite of it all.
There are plenty of bipolar people that are happily married. In fact statistically their marriage rates are only 10-20% lower than people without the disorder.
Disorders don't excuse wild behavior, it just makes life a bit more challenging
