EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Giants veteran defensive end Osi Umenyiora issued a challenge to confident Cleveland Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson.

"If (Trent) looks on tape and he thinks he sees some candy, come try and get it," Umenyiora said Friday.

Umenyiora's challenge came in response to comments Richardson made earlier in the week.

"I think that if we cover the edges and run hard, no doing all this juking and that, one move and go, I think we can have success in the running game," Richardson said.

I'm happy for the win, NEVER doubted us coming back smoothly against this team & glad Randle/Wilson got some love (great week to do it)....but WTF man. ZERO sacks?? Are Tuck, JPP & especially Osi gonna get it going sooner than later?

I kinda doubt they'll be able to against SF next week, but maybe they need a kick in the mouth from that O-line to wake up. I know they got some PDs & improved a bunch against the run after that first surprise drive after the fumble...but we need some sacks, man.

Is it because Canty ain't here? Was he the catalyst after all? I don't get it.

It is pretty baffling how badly the line seems to have fallen off. There were atleast 3 times where Weeden sat in the pocket for 4+ seconds without the slightest pressure. The worst part is this is the best LB/Secondary group the Giants have had in a long time..and the pass rush has gone MIA.

I got faith in them getting it together eventually. Theres way too much talent and depth to keep this up.

Teams scheming for our pass rush over the off season has alot to do with it. I question Osi and Tuck's effort. JPP is always going to get doubled teamed. But this nikka Tuck act's like he doesn't like playing football. Like the stakes has to be high for this motherfukker to come out and play with intensity and pride. I guess some guy's get complacent after winning two titles. I think all the accolades and praise has gone to some player's heads. I trust the coaching staff to correct it, Coughlin see's the same things the fans are seeing. The defense as a whole concerns me. This teams is bad against the run too, I hope it's just injuries. I know it's hindsight, but I would've traded Osi in the off season. :what: I can't believe how bad he's looked so far.

Is it the dt injuries ?? I mean without canty we can't stop the run and we aren't getting a good push , our secondary looks so much better with the prince playing . And Eli Just gets more impressive

Canty is not going to be our solution, we are not a good defense. We haven't been good since 2008. We feed off of turnovers. Canty, Tuck, Boley, Bernard, Osi, Webster, Rolle, Blackburn are 30 + and came off a long season. Our lb are coverage players. Without kenny our safeties are suited for the box. Corey isn't a number one and we are pushing prince into one if he's ready or not. Websters decline came out of no where :to:

What Is Ailing Giants’ Pass Rush?

NUMBER: 0
That’s the number of quarterback hits the Giants totaled against Cleveland’s Brandon Weeden, another alarming performance from a defensive line that is supposed to be loaded, with stars like Justin Tuck, Jason Pierre-Paul and Osi Umenyiora. Asked if he was concerned about the pass rush, Tuck was blunt, saying, “Yes, I am.”
