THIS. With the exception of the artists I grew up on, this is how I listen and check for music.. I usually never bother to check out a hyped artist until I feel it or until im scrollin along on youtube oneday and see that their in the recommended videos to the right and think "fine, why not". I've always been like this with every type of music.

I feel like when people are hyping an artist so much, you usually end up building these really high expectations subconsciously and when you go to check them out, you end up being kinda let down. I usually don't allow myself or try not to do that.
