I can see why he got so much time. A lot of men follow through with killing their girlfriend when they take them hostage.

I had a neighborhood friend I grew up with randomly kill his baby mama in front of his daughter. He stabbed her to death because she had broken up with him and was seeing someone else. The week before he had a restraining order put on him. In the end it didn't matter. After he stabbed her to death he fled the scene, drove back to his parents house (my neighborhood) and took his family hostage. I couldn't even get to my mom's house for hours bc of that shyt. Anyways I can see why the book was thrown at him. I'd be livid if someone burnt down my apartment bc of his bullshyt.
